Technologies and digital media of the 21st century enable communication, cooperation, dialogue and discussion at all levels of society. Progress that has removed borders between citizens also nudges us to become more aware of fundamental values and our own worldview. Non-existent virtual boundaries test our respect for others, their views, traditions, religions. We believe that education about digital citizenship and interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach can equip young people with skills and encourage their tolerance and understanding that is so closely related to acceptance, sensitivity and humbleness. Digital citizenship aims to develop a change of thinking about what safety means in a transparent digital world. The essence of digital citizenship is to become aware of the responsibility for one’s own online behavior.
